While it's lovely to enjoy your time at Karkalla, you're probably keen to explore the sights!
We love the Discover Tasmania website for a comprehensive site of all places however here's some of our top picks
Walking from Karkalla to Battery Point, into Salamanca and the Hobart docks is one of our regular favorites. Try the stair climb of either 'billy goats' or 'nanny goats' laneways, and weave your way through the historic streets. Have a little swing in Arthurs Circus and of course a pastry at Jackman and McRoss.
Head up Kunanyi / Mt Wellington via Fern Tree and the Springs for rainforest walks and views, with coffee, food and beer stops at the Fern Tree Tavern and the Lost Freight Cafe)
You can't come to Hobart without a visit to Mona. While it's a relatively short drive / bus trip, it's much more enjoyable to get there by their dedicated ferries.
Our heart belongs to the Huon Valley! Driving into the valley across the Sleeping Beauty Rangers and into the orchards will make you feel like you're in a storybook. We recommend stopping at Willie Smiths for hot apple cider and across to Cygnet for lunch at Porthole and a browse of the shops.
If you want to head further south, we've enjoyed snow on the Hartz Mountains and warmed ourselves in the natural Hastings Thermal pools.
Of course, Bruny Island is a well visited place and makes a long but lovely day trip
